1. Read this information about the contents that need to be included in the AVID student binder, watch this short video on AVID binder organization and review a sample high school Binder Check form.

Then, ask permission to borrow an AVID student's binder and use the included Binder Check form (or ask your AVID Elective teacher for a copy of the Binder Check form they use in class) to practice assessing the AVID student binder. Discuss the results with your AVID Elective teacher. Use this opportunity to ask questions about the AVID student binder as well.

2. Read the brief overview of Cornell notes. Then watch this video about Cornell notes. Taking quality Cornell notes is a necessary step for all AVID students before they come to the tutorial. Complete the Cornell Note Reflection within the document. (It is the last page of the document)

3. Interview your classroom AVID Elective teacher about Cornell notes and record your responses.

4. Watch this video about how Matt uses his class notes and binder to prepare a TRF for his upcoming AVID tutorial.

5. Review the blank Tutorial Request Form (TRF) and the completed sample from Jennifer. Notice the connection between her class notes and her TRF. Watch this video on the structure of the TRF. Using the blank TRF as a practice exercise, create a completed TRF for a "Point of Confusion" (POC) you may have in a current college class you are taking or a POC about an aspect of the Tutorial process.

For this module, you will turn in:

1. An AVID binder grade sheet from a selected AVID Student Binder.

2. Cornell note reflection

3. Cornell notes interview responses from interview with AVID Elective teacher

4. Your TRF for a current "Point of Confusion" for a college class you are currently taking or a POC on an aspect of the Tutorial process
